I never feel yucky during sex. It is also a great cardiovasular exercise. A great way to burn calories. The question is interesting to me tho, I havent heard of any studies. If you find any let us know. I was interested in your looking into fats as well ( omega 3's ect.) and how readily they are processed in the NF2 body. The pluming just doesn't work any longer (Big silly grin). I no longer have the desire for sex. but my desire for closeness and intimacy is still there. It is different now though. I guess my drive is more like a females now. I want companionship, not physical gratification. Before the problems occured I can say that my sex drive was very active, and it caused some stress on the home front. Im not positive that it is an NF2 thing, though. My father also has sexual hangups, but the NF2 came from my mothers side. Auto-immune responses can be: tumors, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritus, chronic fatigue syndrome, baker's cysts, ovarian cysts, colonic polyps, need I go on.... Dropfoot is interesting too, and it's association with leprosy, the association of nf1 and neuroleprosy is already there. again, i don't think this is the complete answer either. the fatty acids play a role like they do with many other neurodegenerative disorders. potassium does too etc. Such heresy is treated with a deafening silence by some experts. but there is more than just their patented gene involved. I was asking the crew if there was any validity to hypersexuality. I used to be an avid gardener:) When Fall is closing in and the tomatos in the garden are loaded but not ripening a great way is to 'stress' the plant. You do this by sinking in your shovel all the way in the dirt about a foot around the plant, 5 or 6 times. Just whereever, the desire here is not to kill, just SCREW IT UP good:(. You cut off roots and stuff. Anyway, nature responses by ripening the fruit so seeds are matured and the tomatos for next year are assured. I have worked in the field of mental health for the past 20 years and this is seen frequently with manic behavior. Have you ever discussed it with her psychiatrist?
