Guest guest
- Cranial Tech gives FREE evaluations including measurements and pictures and gives you their recommendation. We were able to get in for an appt. with Cranial Tech the next day! 4 3/4 mos. CA tort/plagio/brachy repoing/possible STARband Hi everyone! My son 4 mth old son Connor has an appt scheduled with a specialist next Wed the 15th. He went to his Ped on Dec 3rd and she said it looks like plagio and said for him to see a specialist. How does the process normally work? Does the specialist diagnose him with Plagio and then refer him to Cranial Tech? Or should I be making an appt with Cranial Tech right now on my own? Does it normally take a long time to get an appt with them? Please advise. Thanks, Dallas Texas Connor (Plagio) "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my rock and my Redeemer." Guest guest
Hi , I think it depends on which specialist you are seeing. For us, our specialist referred to a facility other than CT, so we made the appt at CT on our own and just asked him to write " molding helmet " on the sript rather than a specific type. Others may automatically refer to CT. I'd call your CT and ask how long it takes to get a casting appt and if they suggest making a casting appt for soon after the specialist visit. Your insurance may not allow you to have him casted that quickly though, so asking CT about that too would be a good idea. Many require you to wait for a precert before you begin treatment or you forfeit the right to appeal if denied. If the specialist writes you a script, you'll probably need to fax or bring it to CT who will submit it to your insurance. They'll most likely make the appt once you get an answer from your ins co. Guest guest
Hello If you already know that CT would be the facility of your choice, then I can't see why you shouldn't go ahead and make the consult apt already, or even casting apt. If you don't need it then you can always cancel. I do believe it takes a few wks to get in.
