Prescription Naproxen (fast acting formula) has worked for me for many years.

One thing about pain, you have to recognize when it will hit you and take your pain meds before

you are in full blown pain. Otherwise, it doesn't work as well.

I would suggests asking your doctor for Lyrica. I have been taking it for over a month now and I feel like I am finally getting hold of the 'fibro clutch' that was controlling my life. It really decreases pain, decreases fatigue and actually assists with sleep at night. I also take Ultracet 4 times a day as a prophylactic for pain.

Lyrica really is GREAT for fibro and we are all fortunate that something is finally available for us !!!

I like Ultram for a pain pill. It doesn't make you drowsy like

the " REALLY GOOD " stuff does. I also take Flexeril once in a while

for muscle spasms and muscle aches. I have found that those work

well for me. I used to like Vioxx until the FDA found problems with

it.

I'm on Cymbalta and Tramadol which is working quite well except for

this past week. We're getting major weather changes in northern

Michigan and I ache like crazy. The combination of the two do give a

lot of relief though. My rheumatologist put me on these this past June.

I would suggest a doctor who specializes in pain management. Other doctors seem very reluctant to prescribe pain meds.

Thanks for sharing this info, I thought I was the only one with severe

aches during weather changes eventhough I take helpful meds. My ex-

doctor told me it was all in my head.

I think we've all heard that phrase "It's all in your head" one time or another from our doctors. It just goes to show how unskilled, unsympathetic, and unhelpful they are. Who's to blame for our pain??? One thing that all doctors should know how to do: TREAT PAIN.
