Hi there, Chris.

I can only tell you what I think. My baby wore a DOC Band, and a

friend of mine got her son a Hanger Cranial Helmet.

Here are some differences:

DOC Band--the baby's head is cast. Hanger is scanned. Babies don't

always like the casting but it is apparently more accurate.

DOC Band--the orthos go through a lot of training and work with an

experienced ortho for some time before being considered qualified.

You don't hear a lot of stories about bad fit with DOC Band.

Hanger--the orthos go through various levels of training, from what I

understand. I talked to one ortho who is providing bands to children

and has only made five or six. That is not a lot of experience for

someone who has no one supervising him (again in my opinion). I spoke

to another who had done 60 bands, and the man who trained him, who

had done 30 or 40. Both said they had gotten good results with all

ages of baby but couldn't show me any pics.

Which leads me to: DOC Band--takes before and after pics/measurements

and usually gives you the head mold so you have a lot of proof of

correction/improvement. They really value data. I don't believe

Hanger provides pics but they do have the scanned measurements. They

couldn't show me any pics of improvements because of confidentiality.

Cranial Tech (DOC Band) gets releases from parents to show the next

parents pics.

DOC Band seems to be lighter in weight and has less volume than

Hanger Band. The Hanger Band I saw was pretty bulky. In fact, it was

so cumbersome and uncomfortable for the baby that she ended up taking

it off and not using it. The fit was not good. However, that is just

one band and one ortho (the ortho who had done 30 or 40 bands), and

the mom only gave it a couple of weeks of trying to get the fit

right, so that is not a good example. I am sure Hanger provides great

bands that work. I happen to be a rabid fan (complete with saliva and

fear of water) of Cranial Tech (DOC Band) because of how they helped

my son, so I am not particularly objective.

Hope that helps. Sorry it is rushed.
