They don't appear to contain any illegals, but there is no guarantee that your own body will tolerate them. So start slowly if you decide to give them a try. You know my struggles to take supplements.... My body has rejected any kind of OTC digestive enzyme so far -- mostly immune responses, but also severe nausea, stomach cramps, and a lot of burning in the stomach with even the smallest dose. In other words, a bad reaction almost immediately upon taking them. I have heard prescription pancreatic enzymes are helpful for those of us with SOD and pancreas issues, but haven't tried them yet as my gastroenterologist doesn't consider that I need them. Kim M.
