Hello

Great to hear Eleanor is almost done. Time flies sometimes.

PLEASE do the exit cast. Your mind plays tricks on you, and if you

do not do the cast, you have nothing to compare to. That will help

for regression purposes.

Casting is not fun, but it servs a good purpose

Congratulations Eleanor!!! That is exciting news. I would recommend

doing the exit cast. I know it's unpleasant, but you have come so

far and it sure would be nice to have.

Only you know Eleanor best and can weigh the pros and cons. We never

had a casting; we went to a STARscanner facility where the was a

STARscanner. I know that many say the casting is not a big deal and

is over before you know it. It just depends on how much you would

value the worth of having it vs. not and not putting her thru it. I

would probably not want to do it but I really don't know what I would

do if I were in your situation!

GL and please let us know what you decide. I look forward to seeing

her B & A pics. Since you are almost done, I will also ask you now to

please stick around to give advice to other new parents going thru

this and/or please come back again down the road to possibly post 6

or 12-month post band pics. I think it would be so helpful for others

to see so just thought I would ask. Thank you so much.

Hi ,

I would definitely encourage you to do the exit cast. My Hannah had

4 casts for her 3 bands, and while they weren't fun, they were worth

it. After graduating from her second band (she was also 11 mos at

graduation of #2), we thought we noticed some regression, but

unfortunatley hadn't done the exit cast, so they couldn't tell for

sure. All they could really do was take more pics and try and

compare them, but obviously that wasn't as accurate of comparing an

actual mold would have been. At least if you do it and have a

moment of panic later on thinking she has regressed, then they can

just pour the mold and hopefully put your mind at ease. It's only a

few minutes, and definitely not worth the regret if you do have one

of those panic regression moments many of us moms have!

Unfortunately for Hannah, she did end up in a third DOCband a few

months after graduating from #2, but she got great results and we

definitely did opt for the exit cast!
