Guest guest
Hi Marcy, Thanks for your response. Ethan has Plagio. I agree with you. I don't want to rush taking it off. The worry of having to do this again is something I don't want. Ethan went yesterday for his 1st adjustment. They were unable to do anything because of a red spot on the back of his head that appeared the night before. Now we have been told to not let him wear his helmet until the red spot goes away completely. I hated hearing that, I hope it goes away by the end of today. I feel like anytime (other than the 1 hour a day) that he isn't in it is just lost time. I hope that just a day or two off won't delay things too much. , mom to Ethan Plagio - 6 months > > Hi, my son just started wearing his DOC band and is doing > wonderful. > > We go tomorrow for his first adjustment. Guest guest
, I had the same problem with having to keep his band off for a number of hours. It was terrible. It happened during the 2nd and 3rd day after getting it. He had it off for about 17 hours straight! I felt like it was such wasted time. Then we got it adjusted and still got very bad red spots so we kept it off again for a long time. Then when we got his band painted, the sealant just wouldn't dry! Then once it did it smelled soooo bad we could never put it on him. So again we had it off for 5 hours during the day into the entire 12 hour night that he slept....on the back of his head!!! Anyway, he's got it back on now. I hope you were able to put Ethan's band back on tonight! Let us know. Guest guest
Marcy, We haven't been able to put it back on yet. The red spot is still on the back of his head. It is almost gone, but I am afraid to put it back on too soon. I am hoping for the morning. I will let you know. , mom to Ethan Plagio > > > > Hi, my son just started wearing his DOC band and is doing > > > wonderful. > > > > We go tomorrow for his first adjustment. Guest guest
Hi My daughter Lucia was 6 and a half months when she started the helmet. She had severe plagio and has been wearing her helmet now for two and a half months. We nearly stopped it last week as her 2.3cm asmmetry has reduced to just 3mm now, which is well with in the normal range. She also looks completely normal, with just the hint of forehead bossing on one side. We debated whether to stop the helmet at this point with our doctor (Dr Blecher), but we both decided that if we could go for complete correction, why not?! So she will wear it for another month. Your treatment time could be between 2-4 months, but I think you will see a big difference quite quickly at this age. I know it is frustrating when you have to take the helmet off due to red spots etc, but we have had it off quite a few days here and there for fevers, heat rash and my daughter's christening, and still seen excellent results. Hope your son is back on track soon!
