Saccharin got a bad name because it was coming out of patent and would be available to everyone, as I understand it. So the manufacturer of aspartame " leaked " studies which showed saccharin was " unsafe. You should be able to get a legal root beer extract and add either splenda or honey with carb water to make it sweet. I'm sorry, I don't know what diet colas are legal. Guest guest Posted August 16, 2008 Report Share Posted August 16, 2008 I made myself crazy when dd started the diet by looking everywhere for TAB, which was recommended as being the soda that was sweetened only w. saccharin. When I finally found it, it had a ton of illegals in it. Some people recommend using selzter sweetened w. some fruit juice.
