Guest guest
Hi All, has a visit tomorrow with our pediatrician. Next week he will be 6 months old. Hopefully he will give us a referral to a specialist. I listed his pictures under III (as he is the third!) Would some of you more knowledgable folks be willing to look at his pictures and give me your opinion as to the degree of severity? By the way, I searched the internet some and found an article that says twins, especially born premature and usually the twin on the bottom are way more likely to get plagio. My little guy has 2 strikes right there! Adriene and 6/7/04 Fairfield County, Conn.
Guest guest
Hello Adriene- First, let me say what a cutie is! Congrats on your twins! In terms of degrees of severity, really only a specialist can determine that. I know our daughter had a pretty high number, which surprised both us & the specialist, who said that she " hid it well. " There are so many things that they measure. Good luck with your ped visit...if he doesn't give you a referral just know you can call Cranial Tech directly. I think there is one in Clinton, which shouldn't be too far from you. Check out their website, www.cranialtech.com, they do free evaluations and don't need a referral for the initial stages. You will need a perscription from your ped if you decide to band. They are very honest about measurements and don't push parents at all, they let you know the measurements, what improvement you may see, and leave the decision to you. We have been THRILLED with them! Our daughter was moderate, and I suppose we could have gone without banding, but I'm so glad that we did...I LOVE the results we have seen...even in the first 2 weeks1 Good luck! , mom to Emma, born 6/4/04 tort/plagio/docBand 10/25 Cleveland, OH > > Hi All, > > has a visit tomorrow with our pediatrician. Guest guest
Hi there He looks so grown-up for six months! He's got lovely colouring as well. Shape-wise, I found it quite hard to say because I couldn't see the position of the ears and the nose in the top down view so it is hard to see the degree of asymmetry. He looks to me like it is worth getting him checked for plagio (there's enough there to not make it a waste of time), perhaps at CT to get some numbers, but I can't really say more than that. I can see a bit of a flat spot though. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I think you doing the right thing by going to see a specialist. Guest guest
Hi Adriene, is a cutie! He looks older than 6mos, esp for a preemie! I would say his head looks mild-moderate to me, a brachy/plagio combo from the pics. It's not always easy to tell from the pics though, esp when you can't see the nose and ear tips from the top view, so I think you're definitely doing the right thing by getting him evaluated by a specialist who is knowledgeable w/plagio. Guest guest
Adriene, I agree with . I thought I saw brachy and plagio. That just means the shape of the flatness not that he has two different conditions. mom to na DOC Grad 2/20/04 Tort Resolved SC <sarahhollis@...> wrote: Hi Adriene, is a cutie!
