Guest guest
Hi there My daughter's facial asymmetry (fuller cheek, prominent forehead on one side, slanted face) was almost totally corrected by a helmet- you can't see it now. I'm delighted- she looks quite different as a result and many people have remarked on it. There's no reason why you shouldn't see the same success given the young age of your daughter, but do expect this to resolve in the later part of treatment- the rounding at the back occurs first and at one point I thought her forehead was never going to pull out, but it did. Good luck Hannnah (mum to Lucia, London, UK) Cranio helmet grad > > my 5 mo old daughter has tort and plagio, she has been banded for 3 > wks now. one cheek is fuller than the other. do i need to have her > seen by a cranio facial specialist or is this something the band and > physical therapy will take care of. > thanks > angela/ el cajon ca > mother to ashley/ tort and plagio, banded 29 oct
Guest guest
Hi , One cheek fuller than the other can be a result of the plagio and the tort. What does your PT think about it? Do you know what your daughter's asymmetry measurements were before she was banded? Are you seeing any improvement? Sorry for the million questions. mom to na DOC Grad angelahaiden1 <angelahaiden@...> wrote: my 5 mo old daughter has tort and plagio, she has been banded for 3 wks now. one cheek is fuller than the other. do i need to have her seen by a cranio facial specialist or is this something the band and physical therapy will take care of.thanksangela/ el cajon camother to ashley/ tort and plagio, banded 29 oct 04For more plagio info
Guest guest
Lee, My daughter was banded from 4 1/2 months to 8 1/2 months. She had no right temple on her forehead - it just sloped back. She now has a even forehead - yeah! Her pics are in the DOC Band B & A under na. mom to na DOC Grad 2/04 SC www.thefilyaws.comphilgrad2000 <philgrad2000@...> wrote: It definitely makes me feel better knowing that your daughter's assymetry improved by 95%!! Do you think that anyone (other than yourself) would notice any assymetry now? I haven't really found any before/after photos (to ease my mind) where the child had very noticeable facial assymetry before the DOC band, so I am a bit concerned. Hopefully she will be as lucky as Lucia!!!!!LeeAlta., Can.> > > > My daughter will be receiving her DOC band in the next few weeks. > > She will be 7 months when she begins. Guest guest
Thanks - I do feel better knowing that. I checked out na's photos (so cute!!!!) and she does look great now. Hopefully my daughter will have results as good, even though she's getting her first band at 7 months!! Lee Filyaw <monicash@...> wrote: Lee, My daughter was banded from 4 1/2 months to 8 1/2 months.
