Guest guest
Hi My little one never even noticed when the band was placed on her head, she didn't even reach up to see what it was, just carried on playing with her new toy (that's a good tip!) She was 6 1/2 months old, and many babies are like her, in which case, you will have no problem. Sometimes older babies or children can fuss a little more, but again the old trusty distraction and comfort techniques can more than handle it- a new toy and perhaps a comforter, bottle, whatever you use to comfort them will come in handy. Most likely Isabella will not bother about it at all. More likely is that you will find it a bit stressful seeing your little one in a band for the first time. It can be hard, but you do get used to it incredibly quickly and although it can be a bit of a shock, they do usually look pretty cute in them. Also, although some people may stare, you may also find that she get more positive attention than normal, lots of smiles etc. If you act confident and natural around her (even if you feel like going home) then people will take their cue from you and you will have an easier time. Good luck- and let us know how you get along. Hannah (mum to Lucia, London, UK) Cranio grad > I havent written much as I am terriably busy at work. My daughter is getting > her DOC Band on Wend. Guest guest
Oh , I forgot to add. Make sure you pick up some stickers or paint this weekend so you can go right ahead and decorate on Wednesday. We have some tips here ... Decorating Tips She will most likely be on a lighter wearing schedule Wed and Thursday so take advantage. It may interupt her sleep slightly but she shouldadjust in a few days, It didn't bother my child at all she slept in it the first night. Also ,be on the look out for sweating. It's still warm in Florida I'm sure. You will want to dress her just a tad lighter when she has the band on. It acts just like a hat keeping all the heat in. This goes for night time pajamas too. Maybe leave off the socks or dress her like you would have a couple months ago. hannah_farrimond <hannah_farrimond@...> wrote: Hi My little one never even noticed when the band was placed on her head, she didn't even reach up to see what it was, just carried on playing with her new toy (that's a good tip!) Guest guest
Hi , Being nervous is very common, but I can assure you the experience will be much smoother than you're expecting! My daughter wore 3DOCbands and I created a website for her, where you can read about our experience. As far as advice, be sure to read the last entry on the site: http://hannahsnoggin.typepad.com/hannahs_noggin/ Good Luck! Let us know how you make out. , mom to Hannah, DOCgrad Cape Cod, Ma > I havent written much as I am terriably busy at work. My daughter is getting > her DOC Band on Wend. I am very nervous.
