Ensuring the development of safe, effective, accessible preventive AIDS vaccines

for use throughout the world IAV is a global not-for-profit, public-private

partnership working to help develop an AIDS vaccine through research, education,

and policy.

Ensuring that the end goal of successful implementation of these activities in

India is achieved. accountable to senior management on organisational issues,

particularly on those effecting Country Regional Programmes (CRP).

The strategic guidance and day-to-day management of the country-based staff:

potentially 10 to 15 professional employees, as well as outside consultants.

Taking a broad view of the culture of IAVI and seek innovative ways to mentor

and develop its people and build a strong country team.

Developing and implementing the long-term vision for India. Galvanise and

coalesce the India team behind this vision, which furthers the mission and goals

of IAVI worldwide.

Candidate Profile:

A Master's degree, at minimum, is required. Degree in science, public health,

public policy, or related social categories is highly desirable

Post qualification experience in a leadership role in a well-regarded, highly

professional organisation(s). Resident field experience in India is required,

preferably in the area of health, life sciences, HIV, or development work

Strong expertise in advocacy and outreach activity. Proven ability to operate

within a scientific, social, medical, or clinical research programme

Experienced media and public relations person with the ability to respond to

questions and function well under pressure

Proven capability in international programme management and implementation,

particularly in developing countries

Broad-based businessperson with proven management experience
