Zander's Casting!!

We're just back from his casting and I can't even describe how well

it all went! The Orthotist was awesome. He never once questioned

our decision to have Zander banded. He was supportive, answered all

of our questions...just great. We talked about BCBS not paying for

helmets. He agrees that it is totally rediculous that they consider

treatment cosmetic. He made a good point that if our kids had a

club foot, they wouldn't question the payment. What's the

difference?

Zander did AWESOME!!! Do you believe, he slept through the entire

casting process! Never made a peep! I'm just so relieved. I

went in there expecting a nightmare. He had his first PT

appointment right before the casting, so I think he was so

exhausted, he couldn't fight off the sleep. LOL

So, we pick up his STARband in two weeks. We went with the

patriotic themed band. I'm sure he'll look just precious.
