Guest guest
Hi , Because she is doing well otherwise in her band and even sleeping all night, I'd say it is probably not band related. Like you said, it could be teething or something else bothering her. She could also be getting separation anxiety or just be getting older and asserting herself and communicating her wants more loudly! My 18 month old is the queen of tantrums and she started around 11mos. I'm glad she has been doing well with her band otherwise. , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " yzagumny " <yzagumny@y...> wrote: > > My 8-months old daughter Paige got her new DOCBand on Monday here in > Dallas. Guest guest
Hello Great to hear that Paige started her band. If she does these tantrums again see if taking the band off, and leaving it off for a few mins helps. If so she might need an adjustment. If not it might just be that she is going through a phase or actually teething. My daughter does the teething, and you cant see them till they actually push through. Guest guest
, It's hard to say what causes those unexplained meltdowns. I go through those monthly it seems....taking off the band, putting it back on, taking it off. Usually, it's from catching a cold or past his nap time. If you see no abrasions on her head (and because of her age) I would guess she's getting ready to cut another tooth. They start coming up or down any old time and you might not be able to see it under the surface just yet. If you're positive she isn't teething I suppose my next check would call and see if you could get an adjustment just to be positive the band isn't irritating her skin. It's possible she could have already had a growth spurt and really does need some adjusting. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Guest guest
My son did this right around the same age, like 8 1/2 mos, but he wasn't wearing a band. He just went through an extremely fussy, demanding, clingy stage. He didn't want me to leave him even for a second. He wouldn't play by himself or let me put him down. He got teeth in around this time and had reflux, which all could have contributed to the screaming (he was always a very shrieky, fussy baby from birth, anyway), but I think it was just a developmental thing where they figure out they can make you hold them all the time. Which is what I did--got a backpack and packed him around until he grew out of it (which was maybe last week...). The movement of being in the pack calmed him down; he loves it. He's a happy well-adjusted boy now but I have to go to physical therapy from all that extra weight on my knees! Lots of Moms wouldn't cater to their kids this much, though. I happen to be 's slave, so when he grows up spoiled and horrible I'll have only myself to blame. The difficulty sleeping might be because she is used to sleeping on her nice comfortable flat spot, and the helmet is round. If she's not pitching a fit, I'd say you can relax because she'll get used to it. It's the daytime crankies that sound worrisome. Do you have a sling? Have you tried stuffing her in that and doing your chores while you haul her around with you? I'm sure other members can chime in with names of chiropractors for you! Sorry I'm not more help. You have my utmost sympathies. Congrats on the band, by the way! , 19 mos, tort, plagio, DOC Band 5/7 --- In Plagiocephaly , " yzagumny " <yzagumny@y...> wrote: > > My 8-months old daughter Paige got her new DOCBand on Monday here in > Dallas.
