Andi,

Depends entirely on what you want to do with the machine. If you're a

gamer, don't bother. If you want to do business apps (word

processing, spreadsheets, etc.), surf the 'net, e-mail, and the

like... Linux is a very viable alternative to Windoze. Just be aware

that there is a learning curve.
