Great way of putting it, Lynda!! Actually, Katy, I'd like to know what your doc or you mean by borderline hypothyroid. Most docs are SOLELY uninformed about hypothyroid, and will call you borderline if you are at the top edge of the erroneous " normal " range. And if you are at the top edge, you are NOT borderline. You are VERY hypo. Can you tell us what labs were done, the numbers, and the ranges? Janie in Colorado USA p.s. We also have a folder in the FILES section for UK members. Borderline hypothyroid is my own definition because I basically feel very well but have a few irritating symptoms which, after extensive reading, have led me to believe that I might be slightly hypo. I had a cholesterol test done recently and it was unusually high again, despite the fact that I've been a low carber for three years. I don't understand why it should still be high, and being hypo would explain it. Btw, my TSH was done at the time for routine and was 2 (3 was the top end). No other thyroid tests were done because we were not concerned about thyroid then (see below). I've also been stuck at BMI of 25.5 for two years, despite leading a low carb WoE and no matter what changes I make to my diet, the weight will not come off any more - another possibly hypo symptom. I have other problems, but I probably won't be able to remember them all at the moment because one of them is short term memory loss and " brain fog " ! Part of my eyebrow is missing, I have cold hands and feet, I am sensitive to cold and heat, I find it difficult to concentrate, I drop things, I get emotional easily .... etc etc etc. However, I am generally very well and don't want to go to the Dr about T4 etc because I don't feel ill and would like to see if I can self-medicate for the moment. Thus I am trying VCO :-). Katy > > Janie in Colorado USA > > p.s. We also have a folder in the FILES section for UK members.
