Guest guest
Hi . My son Dylan's plagio was getting a little better between his 4 and 6-month checkups. We felt that it would round out on its own but as he got older the plagio looked worse and worse. He was banded on 10.5 months. We were told by our doctor (at his 6-month apt) that it would not get any worse but later learned from our orthotist that if, for some reason, his head is growing assymetrically, they don't know if it will continue to do so or not. So, in order to ensure that we can focus all future growth in the flat area, we had Dylan banded (Starband). We weren't willing to take that chance that it wouldnt round on its own or that it could get worse. We have seen improvement in the flat spot over the past 7 weeks and now we don't have to worry about whether or not he's sleeping on it or resting his head in the carseat on it, etc. I don't want to tell you what to do because each situation is different. I can only tell you what I know from our experience. I'm sure you'll make the right decision for Annie-Mae.
