Guest guest
Hey Guys..... Just want to say that being on this group list has really improved my life and I appreciate so much the input of all the regular posters. Ok..I have about 15 - 20 pounds to lose which has clung to me since I was 15, or about 26 years now. A major help was getting my thyroid regulated. Now...I was thinking about the whole low carb thing and how it works. I tried it about 20 years ago...but was quickly off of it because of my love for sweets. I got back on it 3 years ago with moderate success which I was happy for because I didn't experience the hunger I did with low fat diets. Ok...but then I thought about the old truth that you have to lower your calorie intake to lose weight...it is true that eating low carb you can actually eat more calories and still lose weight however..you can't eat unlimited calories and lose weight! So Wednesday I lowered my calorie intake to under 1400 eating the low carb way and the trick was to write down the calories and carbs in each food I ate BEFORE I PUT IT IN MY MOUTH (that is the trick). This has been an interesting adventure..because I realized that although the cream I put in my 2 cups of coffee in the morning was 12 carbs (not leaving many to keep me under the 20 carb per day atkins limit for weight loss) but also 90 calories! sheesh...I didn't even think about that before! Also On Thursday I got a bottle of cortislim And have taken 2 a day since then. I got on the scale this morning (4 days after the calorie AND carb counting) and have dropped 2 pounds! yeah!!! Now unfortuneately I do not know whether it was the cortislim or the changed diet...it may well be just the diet! I don't want to rock the boat at this point though to find out...so I'll just keep on taking it until the bottle runs out..then test for a week to see if diet alone works as well and let you guys know. Blessings to you all! Loriann
Guest guest
Loriann, we are sure behind you in your quest!! Keep us posted about it. I've heard ads about Cortislim---what's in it??? Hopefully, too, you are eating several small meals every day, which helps keep the metabolism up. Guest guest
Hi Janie and everyone, When I try to go up on Armour, I'm going up to 1.5 grains from 1.25 grains. I start feeling the brain fog and tiredness within a half hour. The same thing happened with Synthroid when I tried to go up to .110. I've been on 1.25 grains about six months and my free T3 results from about three months ago were at the low end of the acceptable range- about four points from the bottom. Six months ago I started out on 1/2 grain - my internist had made a mistake re: the conversion of Synthroid to Armour. I was on it for a month before I realized that something was really wrong. Then I went up to 11/4 grain. I haven't had my Ferritin tested or adrenals or testosterone. I'm new to this alternative approach. I'm 51 and went into menopause at 44 shortly after I became hypothryoid. I'm willing to try to address this thyroid problem in an alternative way because I am worried about my cholesterol (it's barely inside the normal range) and because my Dad had his first heart attack at 55. I have allergies, food allergies., irritability and BLOATING that drives me crazy. If I only eat a very limited diet, like rice, bananas, apples and chicken, my bloating is better - but life is short and I like to eat other foods, Wheat is my very worst food. I haven't taken my temp. for awhile. About three months ago my AM temp was low- between 95 and 96 and my daytime temp was 97 or so. Thank you for responding to my posting - I've been living with this for so long... > Loriann, we are sure behind you in your quest!! Keep us posted about > it.
