Guest guest
Hello Noam That is great to hear that he is doing so well. We too have a STARband and Colin has/had brachy and it fit quite loose almost the whole time he has been in it. I was concerned and asked at every (weekly) visit and was reassured that it was fine. You certainly don't want it to be too tight and have skin breakdown. I will say though that twice our orthotist put a small thin layer across the back bottom of the helmet (near his neck, after his head " popped " out a little) and one time he did slightly shave across the front forehead area. You don't want it to cover their eyes but you do want as much contact with the forehead as possible. Colin has always had to tip his head back a little bit to look up. What great service you are getting. Keep us posted and if you want post some pics. See Colin F. photos: I posed some STARband views of his fit. Guest guest
Hi Noam, The bands are made a little bit big to allow room for growth. I'm sure once he has some growth the band will fit better. Let us know what your ortho says. It's so great that your ortho comes to your house. How does he adjust the band if it needs it? > got his STARBand on Friday and appears to be adjusting to it > well. Guest guest
Henry just got his STARBand on Thursday and we have some of the same issues. His seems to fit pretty well, but we do notice that if he lays on his back when he is napping or sleeping the opening side does seem to push against that ear possibly because it is a little loose front to back. We are going in tomorrow to have them look at the fit again. I'll let you know what they say.
