finally working. Hopefully if we continue to be aggressive, it will

continue to improve. To answer your questions, we saw a ped

neurosurgeon at 4 months and he was not helpful at all. He didn't

classify her plagio as mild, moderate, or severe (although we

asked). He simply said that the issue was cosmetic and if we wanted

a helmet to let him know. We decided to continue with repo, and in

the mean time I made an appointment with a craniofacial center. We

saw a team of doctors and a ped facial plastic surgeon. He said

Maddie's plagio was mild to moderate and that her facial assymetries

were essentially zero. There was some slight forehead bossing

(barely noticeable and much much better than what we started out

with)(That was a month ago, and it seems to be completely back to

normal now...yeah). As I previously mentioned, her ears are still

not aligned, but they are better and wearing glasses should not be a

big deal. When we started the right ear was much lower and more

foreward than the left. Her ears are now level, but the right one

is still more foreward (but I can live with it).

You also asked about why her head seemed to get worse at one point.

The answer is I don't know, but it really freaked us out. Remy's

mom indicated that Remy also had experienced some short-lived

regression for no apparent reason. I attribute it to a growth

spurt, where her head grew out and the flat side never changed. Who

knows? Thankfully it is better now.

I looked at Angelina's pics. What a sweetheart. From looking at

her pics and hearing your story, I would have made the same decision

and went with the helmet. If Maddie still had asymmetries and

signficant ear issues, I think we would also be considering the

helmet/band. For now, we are sticking with repo and hopefully

things continue to improve. She is now sleeping on her side and I

think that this has really helped. I actually allow her to sleep on

her right side (the flat side) as this seems to put pressure on the

front part of her head (and places no pressure on the flat spot) and

maybe helps to push the flat part out? Who knows.

Anyhow, thanks for your post and words of encouragement. I'm sure

Angelina will do great with her helmet. I can't wait to see pics of

her in her new pink helmet.
