Hi,

Some examples of active bands are the Hanger Cranial Band by Hanger

www.hanger.com (there is a facility locator on their website, but

only a minority of locations offer cranial banding by experienced

band orthos, so you'll have to call around and ask lots of

questions.) The Hanger Cranial Band is FDA approved, and is used up

to 18 months. Another active band is the DOCband by Cranial Tech

www.cranialtech.com (they have a list of their facilities on the

website - I think there are around 20.) The DOCband is FDA

approved and can be used up to 24 months is some cases. The other

active band I know about is the Starband by Orthomerica

www.orthomerica.com (you can email them at custserv@...

with your home address and other pertinent info to find out if the

nearest Starband provider to you.) The Starband is also FDA

approved and can be used up to 18 months old.

We have some locations that we know of listed in the Helmet/Band

Database in the Database section of the group, if you'd like to

check your state or nearby states for a particular brand you are

interested in. There are many more locations out there that we

don't know about yet, so that's why I included the website addresses

above so you can search further if you like. Where are you

located? How old is your baby? I'm sorry if I missed this info in

a previous post!

It's recommended that any ortho you are considering be interviewed

for experience, training, etc. We have several lists of questions

in the links/helmets and bands folder for your reference.

Take care,

Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy)

Hi!

Thanks for all the info! My son is 15 months old. We live in Hollywood, FL.

I thought the DOCBand was a "passive band" - is that right?

Hmmmmm
