Guest guest
Hello I received a letter inviting me to attend a meeting with Independent Health's (IHA) Clinical Review Committee for my appeal. It is a panel of medical directors and community physicians. <GULP!> I am nervous but am so glad that I have all of the great references in the letters that this group has provided on this site. I'm going to see if I can find all of the articles, etc. that I referenced in the letter that I sent (either here or other plagio websites). The nurse reviewer said that she will make copies for everyone on the committee if I can send them to her ASAP. The mtg. is on 7/15/04. Do you think I should ask our neurosurgeon to also write a letter or do you think I should just take this next step myself and see where it goes? Originally, he said he would not write a letter of med necc. & that he believed that the Rx provided medical necc. (my ped signed one that I printed from here and it didn't help). Later, when we got our 1st denial from IHA the neuro. did leave me a beautiful message on my answ.'g machine saying that he supports my efforts and that he called and spoke w/2 IHA medical directors (they denied it again and sent me a 2nd denial letter). Thanks for any thoughts and advice! Sue and Colin F. 9mos. (brachy, rt plag) getting STARband *TODAY* at 3:00pm EST! Buffalo, NY
Guest guest
Good luck Sue, oh I'd be a nervous wreck! I'm soooo bad at those sorts of things. I'd go ahead & get all the paperwork together you can for this meeting right now, so yes, I'd ask your neuro to write up a letter now vs later, wouldn't hurt! Also, good luck getting the band today! Yikes...let us know how it goes, it'll be a pc of cake Debbie > Hello > > I received a letter inviting me to attend a meeting with Independent > Health's (IHA) Clinical Review Committee for my appeal. Guest guest
Hi Sue, If your neuro is that nice then I would ask for the letter. It can't hurt, you need all the ammunition that you can get. I'm proud of your courage, I'd be scared to pieces to go in front of " any " committee. Good luck!
