Guest guest
Something doesn't sound right. 's head is flat on the right side and bulging on the left side (back of this head that is) and they only ever shaved the right side (the flat side) and the left front that was also flattening. And he never had any red spots that lasted more than 15 minutes. He hardly ever had any red spots to begin with. He had a DOC band and not a StarBand and I don't know how StarBands work, but I thought they were the same as DOC Bands. Good luck on Monday!!!!! Guest guest
This is not good! How much experience does your ortho have?? I'd keep her band off of her until her ortho sees her. Sorry you're going through this. Keep us posted. --- In Plagiocephaly , " " <katiemammen@c...> wrote: > Well as you all have read recently we have had problems with HArry > our ortho and our Star band. Guest guest
Why did you say this not good but you said it is very common for my daughter to have a red welt for over 15 hours with her DOC band? > > Well as you all have read recently we have had problems with HArry > > our ortho and our Star band. Guest guest
Because her baby has been in her band since June, your baby was very recently banded. This member has been having problems with her ortho. In the beginning of ANY helmet/band treatment it is common to need a few adjustments. It isn't common that 2 months into treatment problems are still arising. > > > Well as you all have read recently we have had problems with > HArry > > > our ortho and our Star band. Guest guest
I agree with you about not cutting into the side that is not flat. Colin's ortho had only cut into the back right (flat side) until about 7 weeks into treatment when it was cut a little bit into the back left (a circular-shaped cut). I would definitely ask about that. It seems only logical that it would then allow the non-flat side to keep growing outward. Is her band loose? I would think that would cause more looseness, but if she has red spots that must be from tightness??? You are smart to follow-up with a specialist. We are also going to a ped neuro in a few weeks who has seen Colin once before and once during treatment. Good luck and let us know how it goes. This WILL get resolved. You are taking all the right steps. Sue Colin F. 11 mos.
