Guest guest
A word of CAUTION, exersaucers should not be used as a " babysitting device " , nor it is any good for infants w/ torticollis. I was told this by Jaden's Chiro and PT, and I also read this on the tort kids website. I think it's fine for a healthy active baby, for a few minutes at a time, but please parents, use discretion. These things can actually DELAY developement such as crawling because they are loosing tummy time and sitting up time on the floor to play, therefore unable to practice their crawling skills. ~Amy, mommy to Jaden 7 mo's MN, yadda yadda yadda > > Hi everyone, > > I bought my son an EvenFlo Mega Exersaucer at 5 months and it > > has been the most wonderful toy investment I've ever made. Guest guest
I also forgot to inclue the johnny-jump-ups (a big no-no for tort kids) as well w/ my post. I'm off my soapbox now, but I just wanted members to be aware that there are health professionals out there that do believe they can cause devel. delays if overused. ~Amy > > > Hi everyone, > > > I bought my son an EvenFlo Mega Exersaucer at 5 months and > it > > > has been the most wonderful toy investment I've ever made. Guest guest
Hi Amy, Just wanted to add that I definitely agree with your caution. However, with Plagio babies, I think the benefits of being in the exersaucer/Jumperoo as opposed to on their backs in the swing or the bouncy seat outweigh the other risks you mentioned. As always, moderation is the key. I'm just doing anything I can to keep Zander off his head for now (until he can sit up on his own). I have also heard that the ny Jumper is no good for babies with tort. The Jumperoo does have much less " boing " than the ny Jumper, which is why I allow Zander to continue to use it. I probably wouldn't recommend it or anything like it for babies with serious tort.
