I've never met anyone else that has my birthday....lol Since you don't know me I have to say I'm not really going to be 26...more like, gulp, 56....Ooooh ouch, that hurt to say that! I've had PM for many years but diagnosed in Oct. of 98... On my birthday, in fact that was my birthday present to myself.. being in the hospital. How time flies when you're having so much fun. I think everyone can relate to this... can you remember when you were 10 and it took forever to get to 16 so you could drive. And you thought you would never make it to 21.... It seemed that the years moved like a snail. After 21 the years just flew by. Doesn't seem fair at all. One of my grand daughters turned 5 last weekend. They all went to the Gold Coast and rented a house on the beach so they could spend a three day weekend. The kids loved the house and the trip to Sea World. Seems like only yesterday when the kids were born. OOOOOOH it's moving to darn fast. Good to see everyone in cheery spirits. I myself am in the duldrums, but felt lighthearted after reading some of the posts. Welcome to all the newbies. Hope you enjoy it here. Hey there to the " oldtimers " . Ann Marie I think asked me about my daughters magnet school. She excels in Math (don't know from where that comes, I can't balance a checkbook-if there are checks left, there must be money too! LOL) Anyway, she scored in the top 2% statewide in her age group for the Stanford tests that they give every year. This fact made her eligble for teh Gifted and Talented Education Program (GATE) in her school. THat in turn made her automatically eligible for the magnet school which is very tough to get into here. My little one, Cary Grant, is only 4, just barely, and they are moving her into Kindergarten in September. She is much farther along than her preschool classmates. Blessing or burdeon, I am not sure yet. We shall see. Everything else is moving along for me. Divorce is in a stalemate. School is out for the summer, I took a season off from coaching and playing ball, I am jsut too tired. I am still taking 5 mg of Pred and 200 mg of Plaquenil. And I can't eat or sleep. I have lsot so much weight, I am about to disappear. (down from 160 in October to 115 now) Yikes, that's what the Dr. says. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Hope you are all having a pain free day. I think one of the doctors called it " chemical anorexia " ...sound familiar to anyone? I hope you can find the strength to get through the doldrums that we all encounter on a regular basis. I look to family and friends when I feel the depression getting bad. And you're so right...a good belly laugh is better than Prozac (which I've been on for 8 years). Guest guest Posted June 28, 2001 Report Share Posted June 28, 2001 Annette A bead retreat (usually called a bead cave for some reason) is where a group (large or small) meet for a long weekend to bead, share ideas, take classes, buy beads, trade beads and indulge in Chocolat!.....Last one I went to was in Jan at Temple, Texas........Rooms were reserved at a special rate , class rooms provided and the week end catered by the hotel.......There were over 70 beaders there.
