Hello

Wow I bet you are pretty frustrated with this. Is there anyway you

could get her a gown / sleeper that closes her hands in? I know she

would probably pull mittens right off, but maybe that would keep her

from pulling it off atleast at bedtime. Hopefully she will get used

to it and demand it back soon when you take it off. Or when you

tape it all around so only you could get it off. This is probably a

hassle, but might work. let us know what you do to keep her from

pulling the band off.

Good luck

Hi :

How frustrating! It is uncommon, but I've read many other parents

post the same things as you!

Is she undoing the velcro first, then removing the band? If so, do

try to tightly tightly put duct tape over the velcro, if she's still

removing the tape, then try safety or diaper pinning the velcro

strap shut. If she removes that, then give her an award :) Others

have tried to distract the child, many just like the velcro noise so

some have given them velcro shoes to play with instead.

Hope she breaks this habit! How's she doing otherwise?

Hi ,

I wish I had some advise. My Makenna took hers off a few times, but

then just stopped. Hopefully your daughter will do the same. There

are members that did have that problem longer than I did and I am

sure that they'll chime in soon.

How frustrating, but what a smarty is! My hannah went

through a phase at about the same age where she LOVED the velcro and

always had to have it undone. It was like she had radar and would

just sense when I pushed it closed, no matter how gently I did it.

She preferred to have it stuck straight out! Luckily this doesn't

effect the function of the band. I'd try a safety pin if she's

taking it off though if good strong tape doesn't work. Is she isn't

even bothering w/the velcro and just popping it off then I really

don't know what to tell you other than to distract her and not make

a big deal out of it. Hannah LOVES to do things that she knows

bother us, so the couple times she has taken it off I was sure to

act like I didn't care and barely noticed. I hope she stops soon

for you!

Hi ,

I thought I remember reading a post from a mom in a similar situation

that used a barrett to keep the velcro shut. I guess it would have

to be a large one that is difficult to open.
