Crista,

It depends. With na she had grown out of hers so they said no

mroe band. They actually fit us in that day for exit casting and

photos since we had such a long drive. If it still fits they may

just have him wear it until the exit cast or they may leave it up to

you.

Good luck! and i'll be anxiously awaiting the news.

Crista,

We went in and they said, ok...she is only going to make it another

2 weeks. When we took her back in 2 weeks they did the exit cast.

Good Luck! I can't wait to hear the news!

Hello Christa... in Ignacio's case he wore his band until 5/2/04 and

the exit cast was done on 5/17. Our ortho told us to take his band

off that day and to keep it off until our casting appointment. She

told me that, for the exit cast to be accurate, Ignacio could be off

the band for a maximum time of two weeks... after that there is a

risk of a growth spurt and the casting will not represent exactly

his head shape after treatment.

BTW, I believe that in 's case, maybe he will wear his band

until the exit cast appointment (unless his band gets too small

before the appointment date). In Ignacio's case the casting was

done after the band was off because some of the CT Miami personnel

would be on vacation and the process could not be completed before

that.

Hope gets out of his band soon...

Hey Crista,

I think they usually have them wear the band until the exit casting

unless they have totally outgrown it. In 's case, our ortho

was going to be out of the office on the day she wanted us to take

off the band, so she told us to take off and we did the exit cast a

few days later. My understanding is that they want to do the exit

cast within a week or two after removing the band so it is accurate.

Good luck with your appt and please keep us posted!!
