Guest guest
Hello, everyone, I'm a mother of a 8 mon daughter. We just got the helmet yesterday. During the fitting in the clinic, I've already felt that the helmet was kind of pushing the forehead down a little bit, making the left eye smaller than not wearing the helmet. The orthotist told us it's normal and if she sleeps on back the helmet might pushing further. Today I tried the adjustment, I still got the same problem no matter how I adjust the position of the helmet. And it also seemed like her lfet eyeball wont turn to left freely. I'm so worried that I might got into another problem, like the eye problem, after the treatment of plagio. Also, summer is coming soon, any parents who have survived through the summer got any opinion about the sweat because even after one hour wearing the helmet, her head looked like just out of bath. Thanks in advance! Jun
Guest guest
Jun, Would it be possible for you to post pictures of your daughter wearing the helmet so we can see what you mean? It shouldn't be effecting her vision at all. Where are you going for treatment? As far as the sweating goes, it will get better in the upcoming days as her head adjusts. Guest guest
Hello Jun Can you post pictures of this? Also can you call your clinic back and maybe have them take another look at this and also at what you are saying with her eye limitation. That doesn't sound like it should be like this. My daughter was banded in the winter so I can't really say much about your other question. I know that children adapt quick, and our doc said to strip them of a layer of clothing. They usually get used to the temp change in a few days. What I did with Willow was to take the helmet off for a few minutes to let her head dry and then put it back on and she seemed to do ok with that. Plus I washed her head every night with a wet washcloth and just the soap that was in the water. Let us know how your daughter adjusts to her helmet. What type of helmet is she wearing? Good luck and keep us updated. Sandy Willow's mom torticollis resolved / CranioGermany Gradjchen4319 <jchen4319@...> wrote: Hello, everyone,I'm a mother of a 8 mon daughter.
