If so, there may be some parents listed that you could contact about their experience w/ Hanger. I've heard lots of members talk about Hanger, just never heard of it being in MN. Guest guest Posted June 25, 2004 Report Share Posted June 25, 2004 Amy- Well, I'm down on the info now...LOL. We have an apt at Hanger in Maplewood in July for an consult. Dr Wood refused to recast in Cranio Cap and Gilette refused to recast unless he gave the ok so we moved to another avenue. Our Ped gave us a referral to Hanger who works with Cranio Caps and bands. So we are gonna have an eval and see about getting her into a more active band since she is running out of time. Any suggestions?? Things you have read? Guest guest Posted June 26, 2004 Report Share Posted June 26, 2004 Ann, I am glad you are moving to an active band, the sooner the better. When you go for the eval, make sure you are prepared to do the casting the very same day, and bring everything you'll need with you to save you time, and an additional trip or appt to do the casting. Hopefully they can cast the same day, that would be extremely nice. And make sure you find out how soon the band will come back after casting, it definitely should be less than 2 weeks. I have read wonderful things about the DOCBand and Hanger. Are you saying you will have your choice between both bands? Which one are you leaning towards? Let me know. I'll try to help, and it would be good for you to post your question about wanting to know the difference between these 2 bands to the group also so everyone can give you their input. I have been keeping on Jaden's orthotist making sure he is bumping out all the right spots for Jaden's cap. We are seeing some good rounding, but a flat spot on the top back portion of his head, so he bumped that out the other day. I am hoping for a good growth spurt, but Jaden's a bit too young for me to do " The Diet " , lol. Plus he is getting his first tooth so has been a bit picky when it comes to eating this past week.
