Guest guest
Hi Jen... although Im no expert in scapho I think I read somewhere that Orthoamerica band is not available for babies with scapho... I think you should try to check our database... Maybe you can find something in there. BTW... HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the twins!!! One year already??? Time sure does fly... Doesn't it seem to you that it was only yesterday you were still pregnant??? At least that's the way I feel. Good luck with Jakob... and I will keep my fingers crossed sou that you guys can rule out cranio... Guest guest
Hi Jen, Thanks for posting an update and Happy Birthday to the twins! Orthomerica does make a STARband for the scaphy headshape and you can see it here: http://www.orthomerica.com/products/cranial/starlightbivalve.htm . Whether or not your specific location uses it is a whole different story though. I would suggest specifically asking them about their experience in treating that particular headshape. Also, I would consider Jakob's severity, as orthomerica only treats up to 18 mos. I'd say it would be at least another month before he was banded and if you need two bands, he may be two old for treatment at a STAR clinic. CT will treat up to 24mos and you know they have the scapho experience. We use the CT in Connecticut and have been seeing Lynne for over a year now and have nothing but good things to say about them. I know it won't be an easy decision factoring your travel into the equation, but please don't wait too long as his growth is slowing every day at this point. We also had a STAR vs. DOC decision to make, but or ride difference was not as big as yours. I'd definitely make sure that your STAR clinic has scapho experience before making your decisoin though. Guest guest
Hi Jen Here are my thoughts. Willow used a local German band, so really I can only say what is on this board. I've heard nothing but good from CT, and you have already said that you liked the folks there that worked with you guys. (evaluation) I would go with what you know. WHich in this case would be CT. Good luck and let us know which band you go with. As far as your doc noly working with Orthomerica. He really only follows success. He isn't the one making adjustments. Guest guest
Jen, I see that Dustie has already given you fantastic advice about scapho treatment, so I won't repeat it! I did want to post to see if you would mind posting from time to time to let us know how your treatment decision and protocol is progressing. We could certainly use additional information and experiences on scapho to share with the group. Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) \ > Hey everyone, > > I know it has been a while since I have posted but we have been busy > running to and fro appts.
