Hi all.....I am new to this group, and since I'm on digest, I haven't

read any emails yet. I'm a 33 year old single mom with 2 boys, one

with Down syndrome, and I work full time at a school. I live in a

very rural area not too far from a bigger city, but I don't have

access to a club because of the commute. I don't have room in my

house for work-out equipment (nor the money to buy it if I had room)

and I can't leave my youngest at home because of his disability. My

oldest will be 12 on Sunday, so after CPR classes, he will start

babysitting, but until now, I haven't been able to get out alone

unless they're at school (ok, I go to the store once in a while, but

nothing consistent). I also have a herniated disk, bad knees, heel

spurs and a hip that's been hurting me lately, so exercise has been

tough. I have a very hard time changing my diet because there's no

one here to report my success or failure. That's why I joined this

group.

Now that you've heard the list of excuses why I'm overweight, here's

the positive: I'm a very happy, very optimistic person and I love

hanging out with my kids. I stand 5' 7 " and weigh 200 pounds (as of

this morning). People tell me I don't look like I weigh 200 pounds

(which could be attributed to a lot of muscle mass from skiing when I

was younger), but I can see it in the pictures. I am bound and

determined to wear a bathing suit with pride this summer, but I can't

do it alone. Help! I look forward to chatting with all of you!

Robin
