Guest guest
Howdy everyone! Jaden got his band yesterday and he's adjusting to it ok. Infact, he's already taking a nap in it right now. I didn't have the heart to take it off before he passed out and wake him up from the sound of that velcro strip. So I left it on. He has a few adjustments to be made next week after the initial fitting yesterday. They had to do some trimming around the eyes and ears and neck, but I think it's sitting pretty low above his eyes (giving him that " angry " face look) and then the piece that is behind the ears is cutting a bit into his shoulder. Had I not already been familiar w/ a proper fit (from this forum thank-you-very-much), he woulda came home w/ an initial incorrect fit had I not pointed out some things that needed to be trimmed. The Ortho wanted to leave as much material on a possible for the first week. WHY they do that I'm not sure, but I'll be sure to have it trimmed again next week. I guess they want him to adjust to the helmet before they do more trimmings. I already picked up some stickers and decorated it on the way home. I'll post a pic when I can. I took pics last nite but they turned out a bit blurry because he was in his doorway bouncer jumper thing and was just boinging and boinging around like nuts. I really hope he gets correction w/ this helmet. As anxious as I was to get him into it, I can't wait to get him out and get his little head rounded out! Guest guest
Hey Amy, I'm glad Jaden is adjusting okay! At CT they also try to leave as much as possible so as not to compromise any of the pressure points or have it affect the overall fit of the band. Hannah had an ear that side that was a little low at the fitting, but they didn't want to take it down to see how it would end up sitting overall. The next week it was still resting on her ear so they shaved it up. I would be concerned w/it cutting into his shoulder though. Angry face is pretty common, especially in babies w/a little chub! As long as it isn't interfering w/his vision or resting on his nose it may be okay. It's hard to tell w/out a pic though . Be sure to let us know when you get some uploaded! I'm looking forward to seeing how you decorated it! , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " Ski Chick " <skisum88@h...> wrote: > Howdy everyone! > Jaden got his band yesterday and he's adjusting to it ok.
