My son has no hair, and the orthotist said that it goes on/off easier with babies that do have hair so maybe it will get better. However, I do see how hair can make the sweating problem worse. Especially since their hair/head is supposed to be dry when you put the helmet back on. Since we just got our helmet today too, I don;t have any solutions, just letting you know what our handout told us. Guest guest Posted April 21, 2004 Report Share Posted April 21, 2004 my 7 month old son just got his star band helmet today. it pulls on his hair putting it on and taking it off. he does not like it at all so far (but he has never liked hats anyway)! he is very sweaty in there! is it okay to put corn starch or corn starch talc on his head or in his helmet? I am not sure about on his head. I know they don't want anything to irritate the babys head because that can cause a skin breakdown.
