Guest guest
Hi Penny, I've been reading that " meat " thread, but don't know enough about putrefaction to comment. However, I can tell you that we had yellow (bright yellow!) stools for at least 6 weeks after we started SCD. AAANNND -- was eating exactly what Kenzie is eating -- meat, bananas and juice (and a bit of pear sauce). We had terrible temper tantrums for 8 weeks. I wouldn't say they were aggressive, because doesn't seem to work that way, but they were loud and terrible. Sue (from Pickering) Mom to , 4, formerly? Guest guest
HI Kathy, Whenever is making progress, we also see increased irritability. When she is peaceful and calm, there's not much happening cognitively. We did see enough progress in the first 2 months to keep us going, but as I keep saying, we had 8 weeks of tantrums and yellow poop along with the good stuff. Hang in there! Guest guest
I have seven kids and I have to say that every last one of them would get really crabby before any type of cognitive or physical developmental spurt! I don't think it's that un-common even for older kids. 's developmental therapist was commenting that she learned about it in school too. Carol in IL ps127@... Guest guest
Kathy, We haven't been on SCD a lot longer than you, but I noticed Sammy's behaviour suffers after anything sweet - so I think we are dealing with yeast. We even started juicing a week or so ago - just carrot and parsley, well watered down, and after 5 days we could tell it just wasn't working as his behaviour was getting worse and worse. Before we did the intro his behaviour was very erratic, like you describe, but after the intro we can now tell that it's the sweeter things he reacts to (pearsauce, butternut squash, peas, carrot juice). So we are staying away from fruits and keeping honey very low until more healing has taken place. We plan on juicing celery today to see how that goes, but it won't taste as good as the carrot! Don't know if that's any help - just thought I'd share what we've been through, Ann Sammy 5, CD Simon 16 months SCD 2+ months > Does this diet take a few months for you to start really seeing some sort of > progress with behavior?
