Guest guest
Hi there everyone, I hope that you are all well. I had my bone scan done and my ultrasound done on my left and only remaining breast and they came back all clear. All day on the radio yesterday they were talking about this new drug that is better than tamoxifen. No side effects and better odds of the cancer not reoccuring and I can't remember what its called. It would cost us $350 a month as its not on the free list. Tamoxifen cost me $27.65 for 60 tablets as it is on the free list. Hopefully it will become on our free list as nicotine patches and zyban are and it wouldn't be fair if they kept this new wonder drug from us because we can't afford it. I saw in the paper dragon boat rowing.....they are going to Canada next year to row. Thinking about giving them a call but I'm not sure if I would like to row. They say its a good sport for lymphodemia..not sure if it keeps it away or if it helps manage lymphodemia. The rowers are all breast cancer survivors.I read that one lady was a 25 year survivor....I love hearing that.
Guest guest
Hi , I think its a good idea to have the other breast removed. I wish I would have known someone with breast cancer or thought to ask about having both of mine removed when I had my mastectomy. My doctor put me on the list for my mascetomy on the other side and reconstruction,he thinks that I will go in the next 6 months. He suggested that the other side goes as well because of my family history. I haven't had any more accidents with my prothesis..lol.for those who don't know I had some bourbons(these bourbons get me into strife lol) at the street Christmas party, then I rode a scooter ,stacked it good and proper lolol I was lying there and realised that my prothesis was lying there beside me and everyone was laughing.....haha.... Was funny.Hope that you are all doing great.
