Guest guest
This happened to a degree for my son too, but I would call the orthotist or CT or whoever did the banding and have them check it out. The week my son was banded I talked to CT every day and went there 3 times because I had so many questions about the correct fit, and it turned out that he did need an adjustment to make the fit better. It will also give you peace of mind. Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, It does sound like the band may need an adjustment if it slides down over his eyebrows. Would you say it interferes w/his vision then? How crooked is it? If you have a picture you could post that may be helpful. It is very common to need an adjustment or two to get that " perfect " fit in the beginning. Where did you get the band? I'd call them to get their opinion for sure. , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " charfurb " <charfurb@y...> wrote: > hi my son was finally banded 2 days ago and the only problems i'm > having is that the band won't stay in place. it keeps sliding down > over his eyebrows and is usually slightly crooked on his face. i am > re-ajusting the band but it keeps happening i'm worried this will > make his head more mishapen due to it sitting wrong. any advice or > anyone else have the same problem? how can i fix this and will it > affect the head shape? thank you- charlotte and baby thomas-8.5 > months old
Guest guest
Hi Charlotte, Could you post a picture so we could all check out ' fit? It is common to sometimes slide over eyebrows but any " crookedness " concerns me. Guest guest
Charlotte, I agree with the others that very likely needs an adjustment. My son had one EVERY week for the first month! ALSO, one other thing I'd like to add because I just dealt with the same issue today. Be very careful to notice whether the helmet is causing either of his eyes to close when it slides over his eye area. There are some very sensitive nerves there that control the 'open and shut' movement of the eye. It would be imperative that you have that adjusted!! The first week or so is the worst, and then it gets better! Do not be afraid to call whomever fit the band and get it adjusted! GOOD LUCK!
