I'm so glad to hear you're getting a DOC Band. My son was banded at

17 1/2 months and has gotten very good correction. The problem with

babies is they're all so round and beautiful (yeah, that's a

problem). People think, oh, sure, she's got a flat spot, but she's

still gorgeous so I won't get a helmet. By the time her facial

features develop and you realize she looks abnormal, it's too late to

do anything about it. Cranial Tech will not steer you wrong. Trust

them and if they say they recommend a helmet, get one! Good luck!

Glad to know that got very good correction at his age. The

reason that I'm hesitating is partly due to the fact that neither

did the doctor nor Cranial Tech say they recommend it. The doctor

said it's not necessary and Cranial Tech said " it's up to you. "

Probably because my daughter's case is mild.

Thanks,

Chen,

I agree with . CT will not steer you wrong. My dd was treated by CT in Charlotte. The ortho told us she loved to trun parents away at the consult telling them all was fine.

Chen,

Did CT take measurements? What were they? Is there any facial or ear assymmetry? Our ortho was starting to use 6 mm assymmetry as her recommendation point if there were no obvious facial or ear assymmetry issues.

Chen,

That is great that there is no obvious ear or facial assymmetry. 8 mm is usually considered mild to moderate. My dd started with 11 mm cranial vault and 9 mm ear assymmetry. She was considered moderate. So it was a much easier decision to make. When she went into her second band she was 7 mm for both measurements. She was 6 months old and we felt she still had a lot of room for improvement. She graduated with 3 mm cranial and 4 mm ears.

Can you post some pictures of Carolyn? Especially a birdseye view that would show the flatness.

Do you still have your casting appointment? When do you want to make your decision by?
