Hi Amy. No they don't take measurements at every appointment. Only at

the beginning so they have a point of reference. That's how they knew

what her original asymmetry & cephalic index (ratio of head width to

length) was. My understanding is that they will not measure again

until the end, to see the actual change in measurements through

treatment.

I think measurements are helpful for the above reasons, but in

general I think what's important is not having a head that

has 'perfect' measurements (0 std. deviations or whatever) but in

restoring the head to an appropriate, pleasing shape. That is

impossible to put an exact number on, and can be different between

different individuals. Anyway, that's just my take on it.

started at 9.5 months old. When I asked about hearing other parents

quote measurement stats they said it's not necessary and they use the

mold to monitor progress as well as the pictures. They said they

really only take measurements when it's required by insurance. She

said we can start taking measurements at his 2 week visit if we

want. Just curious if you feel this is helpful...and if they just do
