Guest guest
I am new to the group too, but am also using Cranial Tech in San Deigo. My Ped. classified my daughter (see her posted pic) as a severe case at birth and advised me to repro her. The Ped. told me her head would pop out in time. She is almost 10 months now and I wish I had gone to Cranial Tech sooner. I am going thru the approval process with Cigna/Monarch right now. That is something in it self! The Ped. also gave me a referal to CT. I had to requested it though. I have an appointment to have her casted on Tue. With or without approval. The longer you wait the long your child will have to wear the band. You did not state you childs age or the severity of the plagiocephaly. If you can post a picture it would be helpful to the group. I spent a lot of time reading thru the post postings and the people on this site are very very helpful. Good luck. - In Plagiocephaly , " daileybaby03 " <melwoodplace@c...> wrote: > Did you take your child to see a specialist before have CT do the > casting?? Guest guest
; I jsut replied to your earlier question, but perhaps Cranial Tech in San Diego would have a couple suggestions for a specialist familar w/plagio that your Dr could refer you to? Still sadly today, many Drs/specialists are so non chalant about plagio it's so frustrating! I'd call San Diego CT Mon & ask if they could refer you somewhere? My Abby saw a ped. neuro who then wrote us our rx's for her bands. Debbie Abby's mom DOCGrad MI > Did you take your child to see a specialist before have CT do the > casting?? Guest guest
: I went to CT's website " clinic locations " http://www.cranialtech.com and found a listing of physicians they have listed in the S.D./L.A. area. This may be of help. I'd imagine for CT to put them on their website, they must be plagio friendly & knowledgable. HTH. Guest guest
I think that it is great that your ped will write the script. My visit with a neuro was a quick five minutes, I would rather have skipped that step but you do whatever make YOU feel comfortable. Guest guest
Hi . We are also going to the San Diego CT and they are great. Our daughter was diagnosed as moderate, between 1-2 standard deviations off. She has been in her band for about a month and had no problem at all adapting; she was wearing it 23 hours/day from the start. We were told that their goal was to get her to less than 1 standard deviation, which would place her well within normal range. Good luck.
