Guest guest
I was really scared when I first started. I had no one to talk to and just went on desperation. I knew that if I didnt' do something I'd die.... No docs around here will take anyone without insurance unless you put the money upfront and deal with their hoops - full physical, stupid tests, return/multiple office visits... totaling over a thousand, easily.. NOT ONE would just check my levels and give me a prescription.... so I had to self medicate.... Now, with the excellent results. I can honestly say it may have been the best thing that ever happened to me, not being able to afford a doc.... I'd still be on synthetics and underdosed... I'd still be getting sicker with each passing year.... and I wouldn't be where I am today.... Guest guest
Hi and EveryOne, I second that! I did spend the $1,000 out of my own pocket, for the required complete physical and lab tests etc. in the hopes of getting a diagnosis (which I already knew) and a prescription. Didn't get either and out of desperation I started researching on line and when I knew enough, self medicating. I have come to realize that was probably the best outcome or I too would be untreated or under-dosed. All's well that ends well:-)) Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev Thyroid-Adrenal Connection: Information and Resources http://www.bestweb.net/~om/thyroid I knew that if I didnt' do something I'd die.... Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I meant that my body temperature, not basal, is usually below 98.6 all day long. Once in awhile in the evenings it gets to 98.6 but not consistently. That is one of the reasons I think I need more Armour. However, I do remember reading in the Broda book that it can take a long time for the temp to return to normal and sometimes it doesn't do so. I have only been on 3 to 3.5 grains of Armour three months. Since I would like my old metabolism back again, I am going to try raising my dose a bit more and see which comes first 98.6 and less symptoms, or signs of hyper, in which case, I will not hesitate to cut back again. Since Dr. Derry said most people need between 3-5 grains of Armour I figure I have room to experiment. Has anyone else noticed that as they increase their meds their temp goes up at first but then after a month or so on the new dose the temp goes back down again? I am not sure but I think that is what happens with me. Peace, Love and Harmony, Bev Bev, Is that a typo? Basal temp should be 97.8 and body temp when active should be 98.6.
