Guest guest
Hi everyone, I appreciate everyone's comments on the posting guidelines. I feel that I have sent the wrong message, though, and that I seem to have offended some of you with the guidelines. Most structured environments have guidelines to adhere to and this list has grown to the point that I felt that it needed to have a more specific structure - especially with the input that I was getting from members. This list is not for me - it is for all of you (okay, and me, too). Craig & - I truly do appreciate your thoughts on how to handle the list, but my feeling is that to split the list into two would be confusing. Thank you so much for thinking about it. This list is meant for both the support and the medical information on RSS. I feel that the support outweighs the medical information in many cases. There may be a fine line between regular chat and chat that is related to RSS, but my feelings are that if we stay within the guidelines, the list should prove to be the most helpful to everyone. As far as someone thinking about starting another list - for everyone's information - there are three other lists on the ONElist/eGroups website now that relate to RSS. Of course there is 's list for children and adults with RSS - RSS-People. Then there is RSS-Solutions which deals with alternative solutions/treatments for RSS, and then there is now a list that was on the eGroups web site and since ONElist and eGroups merged a few weeks ago, we are now on the same web site - this I discovered last week. This list is called rss-support1 and was started last July by a former member of this list, although I'm not sure the reason why he started his own list. The messages on rss-support1 are open to the public, so if anyone wanted to check out some of the messages, they certainly could. You can do a search for RSS and then it will give you all the lists. Click on Public under Archive for rss-support1. Okay, don't anyone blame me for withholding information!! (joke) But please don't leave us ... Chat times - If the chat times that I set up aren't good for anyone, please, please feel free to set up some other times. The Calendar is accessible to anyone. Just click on Calendar on the left of the RSS-Support web site screen and it will take you to the current calendar day. Click on Add Event and then you can add a chat time. You can set it up so that it's just a one-time thing or a repeating weekly chat - whatever you wish! Don't feel that I need to be the one to do that. I have no idea when you're on-line and available. I just took a bunch of times that I thought might be convenient for our global list participants. Also, you can set your Time Zone here so that you will receive the reminder messages in your own time zone. Mark - the Chat room is so new that they are still trying to work the bugs out, so no ideas on chatting yet from ONElist. Katy, I loved your metaphors - so well put! I ditto everything. Thanks for your perspective. - Thanks so much for posting the info about the ICQ (I understand that it means " I Seek You " - cute). This may help interested members keep in touch in yet another way. Thanks again! There, I think I'm done. I hope we can all get on to the business of being good friends and helping each other in the confusing, frightening, and frequently lovely world of RSS. Much love and support to you all, Dennise
