Guest guest
Hi! I'm not too sure about swollen eyes. I've heard of the band pushing down the skin and making the eyes look swollen. We always referred to it as " angry face. " If I unvelcroed the band and repositioned it I was ususally able to give her somewhat of a forehead lift and make that go away. Is it leaving red spots too? I would think if it were too tight it would make his forehead red. I'd definitely post a picture if you can, or email it to one of us mods and we can do it for you. usually has the best luck. I think I'd call CT though and just let them know that with all the time you have him off he still has swelling. Let us know what happens. , mom to Hannah, DOC #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > We were in Chicago for 2 days and Aidan got his band...Yeah! > It seems to fit really well (doesn't rotate at all) but he isn't > adjusting as well to it. Guest guest
Hi Amy: I'm glad Aidan is now DOCbanded and doing well! Is it actually his eyes that are swollen, or his forehead area above his eyebrows? Sometimes some fluid gets caught in the area between the edge of the band and open skin and this is typical & happens frequently. If your clinician said it was ok, then I'd assume it would be, but if you're still quite concerned, definitely call the clinic again and double chk. Hope it's nothing and all continues to go well. I'd hate to have you drive all that way back for a re-check so soon! Keep us posted & please do post pics when you can. Debbie > > Hi! I'm not too sure about swollen eyes. Guest guest
Hi Amy! My son, Christian, has been in a Starband since 2/17. We also experienced swollen eyes during the first few nights that he actually slept with it on. I was told that this can happen as the baby's head adjusts to the helmet. In our case, Christian was sleeping on his stomach, so that made sense that he was putting added pressure on the front of his head. Anyhow, after a few days, it stopped, and we haven't seen it since!!!!! GOOD LUCK!
