Guest guest
I know we have discussed this before at length but I am now getting really frustrated with the limited choices I have for Abby. She is dairy free, low sal. low amine and SCD. I need to go ahead and try the no-fenol sometimes soon so was wondering if there were any side effects regarding stools, behavior, interactions with any other supplements or medications? Thanks, Kathy, Abby's mom, SCD for 5 weeks

Thanks, > Kathy, Abby's mom, SCD for 5 weeks I've been using the new legal No Fenol with for a few weeks now. I haven't seen any bad side-effects. I started slowly with 1/2 cap one time per day (lunch or dinner). Now he gets 1/2 cap with each meal and even a tiny bit with snack. He is making so many improvements for a variety of possible reasons, so I can't really point to the NF and say, " that's it " . But, the info on DeFelice's site and in her book really inspired me to try it(www.enzymestuff.com). There is a section on possible initial reactions. I'm also giving him the Zyme Prime, although when he's at my mom's a few times per week he gets Thropps. son - almost 5yo, ASD, SCD one year
Guest guest
Hi and Kathy, If you are going to use No-Fenol start out very slowly, like 1/4 of a capsule and increase slowly as the weeks pass by. We used the first version of No-Fenol and had constipation issues when we went over 1/2 capsule. We also had constipation issues when we went over 1/2 capsule of the AFP Peptizyde. Devin told us not to even try the Zyme Prime because of the severe constipation our son had with another enzyme supplement (health food store brand)with similar enzymes in it. We never saw an improvement of behavior or increased speech with the enzymes so they were just not for my son as he seems to digest everything but does not retain some of the water in the colon to get the softer stools. I don't know if the new formula would be better but we don't seem to have a big phenol issue so I'm not willing to invest our time and money to go down that path again. You can also talk to Devin directly and he will send you a sample (10 capsules)to try before you invest in a bottle.....he is really nice!! Hope this helps and take care, Becky in Chesapeake, VA with 10 yr old on SCD 8+ weeks and still working on the constipation issue > I know we have discussed this before at length but I am now getting really frustrated with the limited choices I have for Abby.
