Guest guest
Janet, I don't have an answer but I do want to tell you how important it may become for you to be on iron supplementation to prevent a low Ferritin---if it hasn't already happened. Also, has 1 3/4 grain Armour rid you of symptoms? If not, perhaps the periods could be a sign that you need more... And you so you don't feel alone, I feel tired tired with every single period and would love to stop that!! Janie > I'm having my 3rd " real " period here in less than 45 days. ARRGGGHHH! Guest guest
Hi Janet, I would get the book The change before the change by Dr Corio. On average menopause happens at age 50. Perimeno is the 10 - 15 years before that time. At 42 you are probably in perimeno. Dr describes the changes in her book. If I remember right there are 3 major changes that can happen. Sudden cessation of periods. They become lighter or they become heavier. She goes over whem symptoms signal trouble and one of them is if your periods are less than 21 days apart from the first day of bleeding of one cycle to the first day of bleeding of the next cycle. She suggests that you have your Dr perform an endometrial biopsy (VABRA) and transvaginal sonogram to rule put pre-cancer of the uterus. Guest guest
Thanks for your support, Janie. I really appreciate it. I've only been taking extra iron (other than what's in my MVit) about 1-2 times a week, max. But will probably do more now. Just don't want to overdo this particular supp. Ferritin, etc, is another thing I'll ask for when I go in to get checked. And a resounding no to the 1.75 of Armour relieving my symptoms. I just feel like it's so risky, from all that I hear/read, to increase at intervals less than 4 weeks despite the fact that I've pretty much been going down ever since I started the Armour. Actually it's been shortly after I quit the 75 of Synthroid a week after I started the Armour at 1.50 on 2/4. I also stopped my Cytomel 37.5 the same day I started Armour. No wonder I'm slipping back and feel like crap. I don't want to go hyper but it's really hard to sit here and watch any little progress slip away. Just yesterday, I wrote what I did to about her liver and at the end, stated how good it felt to be able to think that straight again. Then I wake up this AM feeling that old familiar fog creeping in again. Can just feel and see a lot of things coming back. I pointed out to my doc the differences in my T3/T4 doses with Armour compaired to that of what I was getting before the Armour and he was like, " Ya? What's your point? " He didn't actually say that but that was what I felt. Didn't seem concerned about it. I then told him I was increasing the dose by 1/2 grain, but seem really sensative to it so I pretty quickly backed that down to 1/4gr. Have been at the 1.75 for just a little over a week. Difficult, difficult, difficult! > Janet, I don't have an answer but I do want to tell you how > important it may become for you to be on iron supplementation to > prevent a low Ferritin---if it hasn't already happened. > > Also, has 1 3/4 grain Armour rid you of symptoms? Guest guest
Ugh! Not what I wanted to hear, Louise, but I'm trying to be realistic here in that it's a possibility. It just seems awfully sudden to me but I guess anything can happen. I was just assuming it was due to my thyroid problems because as that has worsened, so have the female hormonal problems. Have taken note of the book and the tests. Thanks for looking things up for me!
