Janie,

I thought of those options, too. In light of the darker stools and it taking

slightly

longer for my blood to stop after my blood draw on Thursday, plus the fact that

my

eyelids and areas under my eyes are pretty puffy, my tongue is swollen, my

joints are

achy and my insomnia hasn't let up at all, I think I'll go for stopping the

adrenal

support. Haven't really seen any benefit from it so far and I'd hate for it to

mess

things up any more than they have. Would sure love to get serum cortisol levels

4x a

day before getting really serious about finding a supp I can handle. I got a 24

hour

urine earlier this month and it was 26 (about midrange) and my 8AM cortisol on

Thursday was 16.3 (5-22). But I had been working 7p-7a for the last 8 years and

even though I've been off that schedule for a month and have been trying to be

more

of a " day " person, I can feel a pretty strong surge of cortisol anywhere from

8p-12m

and then I'm definitely " up " until 4-6am. In this line of reasoning, my 8AM

cortisol

level probably reflected my just " coming down. " I most certainly didn't feel

like a 16.3

that morning!! For me, getting an 8AM cortisol at about 3-4PM would probably be

more accurate. Thus my wish for a 4-level cortisol test. My endo had no

concept of

this 4x/day cortisol test. Plus, I had taken 1 cap of my adrenal supp for 4

days, then

2 for 2 days and 0 for 2 days prior to the test. Don't know for sure but

perhaps this

messed with the accuracy also. I just think being able to cut that late night

cortisol

level back would do wonders. Then I could at least get some decent sleep

without my

heart pounding. Oh, well......

Could my iron be too high from an 18mg supplement via the MVit? No, I think

it's the

adrenal support as the darker stools were just yesterday (very slight) and today

(Saturday). Keeping everything the same for another week isn't really a

realistic

option given the symptoms I gave above and the fact that I really don't feel

well right

now at all. I can feel the additional Armour working via a clearer brain, etc.,

but I'm

thinking the 1/2 grain jump last Sunday was a tad too much at one time. Am

going

to back down to 1 grain for a couple of days and then go back up to 1 1/2 for a

couple of days and then just add another 1/4. I'm probably not being patient

enough

since I want to be able to go back to work soon! But I know I'll need a much

clearer

brain and much more energy to do that without the risk of being sick.

What is it about taking thyroid replacement that requires extra B vitamins,

Janie? I

should be doing that anyway but just don't like to overdo the Bs. Is high

potency

pretty standard for thyroid folks?

The possible internal bleeding really worries me. Thanks for voicing concern.

I'll

keep you posted on what happens with all this.

Thanks again,

Janet

Maybe you never needed adrenal support?

I was thinking more on the line of something else going on

internally to explain that metallic taste and those dark stool.

Understandable!! I was SO impatient when I switched to Armour!! But

I had to do it slowly. And even when I got to my optimal dose, there

were still changes going on in my body!! :o)

Because your body is getting stronger and more healthy, thus your

requirements are increasing. Have read this with two docs, so far.

Thanks, Janie, for the response and support.

My theory on the dark stool issue is that the adrenal support caused some GI

irritation due to extra cortisol production. Will see if it heals now that I've

stopped

the supps. Could very well be I'm producing enough, if not just a bit too much.

It's

just not being released when I want it to be. Grrrrr.......
