Hi Tara

Try not to get sad or discouraged!! You're just in the beginning of

this entire process. In the right hands, like Cranial Techs, you

should feel confident that Grace will get correction from her

DOCband! It just takes some time!!

I don't think CT have any reported statistics on success rates,

especially because every child is different and correction varies

from child to child based on severity, age & growth spurts mainly.

How old is Grace now?

Keep your spirits up!!

HI Tara,

It is very easy to get overwhelmed and discouraged in the beginning.

Some kiddos do require a second or third band to get the best

correction possible, but I am sure that each of those babies got

really good correction in the first band. The second or third band

simply gave them more correction.

Don't worry about getting a seond or third band at this stage. Take

it one day at a time, one week at a time, one band at a time, and

know that you are doing the very best that you can for Gracie!

Tara,

I'm so sorry you are feeling down! Gracie is just in the beginning

stages of treatment with the DOCband, an active band that should

give her great correction even at her age. I know a previous reply

gave you a link to Cranial Tech's study that even older babies can

expect correction with a DOCband - in that study, they consider

older babies 12 months old! Gracie is significantly younger than

the " older " babies in the study. I also want to echo what Robin

said in her reply to you - the definition of " success " will

certainly vary from situation to situation. Try to keep your

spirits up! You will start to feel better when you begin to see

some rounding with Gracie, I'm sure.

Take care,

hi Tara,

I don't know about statistics but I can tell you that the majority of

our members whose babies are banded are pleased with the end

results. I know how scary it can be in the beginning. Try and hang

in there and I bet a month from now you will be pretty excited about

Gracie's progress. Sending happy thoughts your way!

Hi Tara,

I don't know any stats on CT's bands, but it worked for my son Jake.

He wore one band starting at 7 months of age and wore it for 12

weeks. His plagio was considered moderate. He got good correction,

not perfect, but no one's head is perfect. I didn't really start

seeing any improvement until about 3-4 weeks into treatment. I

noticed the change when I washed his hair - his head didn't feel as

flat on the plagio side. I know in the beginning I wasn't convinced

it would work, but I'm very happy with the results.

Let us know when you start to see improvements.
