Guest guest
I need some advice. We have done the SCD for over a year because of our daughter who has UC. One of the reasons the whole family went on the diet was because our then-three year old son was having lots of diarrhea. In the last year, his bowels have improved, but he has never had consistent trophies. He then started alternating between hard balls and loose stools. Within the last month he started having very hard balls and of very little amount. I was not strict enough with him about adding new things in and I'm sure he had raw fruits and vegetables much too early (although completely SCD legal). Last Friday and Saturday we did the intro for him and started the OJ/prune nectar protocol. His bowel movements have become almost non-existent. How long can this go on!!?? My husband got some magnesium citrate at WalMart today, but, I see it is full of illegals. The pharmacist said it was too harsh for little ones and sent Diocto Syrup which is a stool softener/laxative home with him that is also full of illegals. In Elaine's protocol she says if you haven't gone in 7-10 days--does that mean gone at all?? and is it safe to wait that long? Presently he is eating beef, chicken, applesauce, eggs(with a litttle cheese), cooked green beans and cooked carrots. We have also given him Epsom salt baths (2 T). If you use magnesium citrate, what is the amount for a four year old and how fast is Kirkman's if I'd order the Pure stuff today? Thanks for any help and advice. Guest guest
Kirkman's delivers in about 3-4 days but you can pay additional for express delivery. If it had been that long with my child having a BM I would do an enema to get it going. ( Just until you get the M. Citrate) You can try those glycerin suppositories also. We have been battling C. for years so I know what you are going through. Kathy mom of Abby, ASD, UC and Hannah-13 SCD for 18 days Constipation protocol > I need some advice. Guest guest
Kathy, Can you give me any more info on the enema--I am totally ignorant on this subject--we have been trying to stop diarrhea for almost 3 years! Also any hints on the suppositories would be appreciated. Thanks. Rhonda Constipation protocol | | | > I need some advice. We have done the SCD for over a year | > because of our daughter who has UC. Guest guest
We've done them many times. Just get a child's Fleet in the grocery store.........or you can use an adult one if needed. (it won't hurt them) It really cleans them out too. The glycerin suppositories are easier and less intense to do on a child. They are by Fleet and in a small green jar. (there are other brands too) Elaine recommends the suppositories after 14 days on the prune/orange protocol with no success. I hope this helps.........
