Guest guest Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I was told of a homeopathic cold remedy called " Zicam " Cold remedy swabs. You put the swab just slightly inside each nostril. My daughter is extremely congested and the chicken soup/cayenne pepper/lemon is not working that well. The ingrediants in this are: Benzalkonium chloride, glycerin, hydroxyethylcellulous, purified water, sodium chloride, sodium hydroxide. Has anyone used this and it is safe? would appreciate some feedback. Thanks - claudette na's mom Quote
Guest guest Posted March 13, 2004 Report Posted March 13, 2004 I've used it with great success, but I read recently that a small number of people have permanently lost their sense of smell from using the nasal swabs. There is a nasal spray and a throat spray that also work really well, and are apparently not linked to the loss of smell. It only works well if you start giving it at the very beginning of the cold. If you wait until the cold is well-established you're wasting your time using it. Zicam I was told of a homeopathic cold remedy called " Zicam " Cold remedy swabs.
