Guest guest
Hi , Good news about the tort! And well, about the plagio, as long as you have a good fitting band from an experienced ortho it really isn't so bad. Take it from someone who has been dealing w/it for over a year now, lol! If Ben is close to being severe, I'd definitely push for it sooner than later. The repo will be more difficult w/him having the tort and being on the severe side. The earlier he's banded the faster and BETTER correction he'll receive. My Hannah was severe and banded at 4.5 mos and she'll still always have remaining assymetry. Before six mos is the best time to band. Good luck with the continuing repo. , mom to Hannah (12/23/02), DOCbanded 5/12/03, 8/12/03, 3/30/04 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " M " <jlmaxian@r...> wrote: > We went to Ben's PT appt today, and I asked her what she would > consider his tort/plagio. Guest guest
, I'm glad to hear that Ben's tort is only mild! That's great news. It was observant for his PT to note that repo probably won't deliver the results... that tort can really interfere with the best of repo intentions - it's no reflection on how hard you are devoting yourself to repo'ing Ben! I know it must be frustrating that Ben always gets back on his flat area. Would you let us know what his Doctor says at your son's 4 month appt? I don't know if you mentioned before, but I do know that there is a Starscanner laser scanning system out there for Orthomerica products such as the Starband, and also the Insignia scanning system for the Hanger Cranial Band. Cranial Tech also has a new 3D imaging system that hasn't been rolled out completely just yet for the DOCband. Which band or type of product are you condsidering in your area? We may even have a member who has been to the same facility you're doing some research on. Guest guest
I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's the Starscanner / Starband that's available here (Rochester, NY). > I don't know if you mentioned before, but I do know that there is a > Starscanner laser scanning system out there for Orthomerica products > such as the Starband, and also the Insignia scanning system for the > Hanger Cranial Band. Guest guest
Hello Great news about the tort only being mild and the age they caught it at. WOW is all I can say and great ped. As for the banding. I would push for an rx and get it all set up so when time comes to band you can go either way. I'm a big believer in keep all the doors open and if repo didn't work then you can go right ahead and get that band for him. good luck and great about the scanner. Casting really wasn't that bad though. Willow barely cried and more b/c she was mad. lol Sandy Willow's Mom Torticollis resolved ( 6 - 7 months of pt and ot) Cranio Germany Grad 04 --- In Plagiocephaly , " M " <jlmaxian@r...> wrote: > We went to Ben's PT appt today, and I asked her what she would > consider his tort/plagio.
