Guest guest
Hi, My doc said JT's head would round out on it's own and it did not. We never went to a specialist so I cannot help you with your question, I can only tell you our experience. I knew his head was flat, I took him to Cranial Technologies and they agreed. I went back to my ped and demanded a RX and recieved one, and then JT was banded. This is a hard process for everyone to go through. THink of yourself as a pioneer and you will be helping many other children that go to your ped's office. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Guest guest
We were treated by whitaker the surgical nurse practioner, who works with the surgon Dr. Buchman head of peds plastics, at U of M. We started our son in the Danmar helmet at 6 months of age and saw excellent correction. They measured his head while we were there and looked at it for facial asymetries and siad he had moderate to severe plagio. We were thrilled with the results when it was discontinued. A small flat area mostly seen by mom only. Our familes were amazed. We also go to gymboree with three other moms whose children are wearing or wore the danmar helmet and they have all been very happy. One girl wore two helmets, and the others wore just one. One was also treated at U of M, one treated through a clinic out of providence hospital and one treated through children's downtown. Feel free to email me any questions. > Hello, we just found out our son has plagio. And the sad part is we > had to tell our doctor what was the problem. Guest guest
Hi Tori. Welcome to the group!! I can't believe that your doctor would joke about something like that, or anything regarding your baby for that matter. Unbelievable! I read Debbie's reply to you and I just want you to know that I second everything she said. Please let me know if there is anything I can help you with. My daughter had a passive, university helmet (with very good results I might add). You can post to me on the board or privately if you wish. , mom to Makenna LLUMC helmet grad. > Hello, we just found out our son has plagio.
